Education Assistant (Montessori Elementary – Grades 1–3)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Assistant (EA) to support students in our Montessori Elementary (Grades 1–3) classroom. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to support student learning, independence, and well-being in alignment with Montessori principles.

Position Details

• Role: Education Assistant (Elementary, Grades 1–3)
• Hours: 16–20 hours per week
• Wage: Starting at $22 per hour
• Start Date: As soon as possible
  

Key Responsibilities

• Support individual and small groups of students under the direction of the classroom teacher
• Assist students with academic, social, and emotional needs
• Implement strategies and accommodations as outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Support self-regulation, independence, and positive behaviour
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
• Communicate professionally with staff and follow school policies and procedures
  

Required Qualifications

• Valid EA Certificate
• POPARD Certification (required)
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Experience working with elementary-aged children
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
