Job Description

Join us on our journey to empower over a million people to change their behaviours and thrive!

At Thrive Tribe we deliver award-winning healthy lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that make people happier and healthier!

We’re looking for a  Healthy Lifestyle Engagement Officer to join our One You Lincolnshire service. Since July 2019, One You Lincolnshire has offered adults support in Weight Management, Smoking Cessation, Alcohol Reduction, Physical Activity and Health Coaching.

The main aspect of this role, however, involves working on a new programme called gloji Energy that is responsible for supporting children and their families to lead healthy lifestyles. The innovative project will provide eligible Lincolnshire families a fun and engaging programme, that encourages them to eat healthier, increase their physical activity levels, sleep better and improve their wellbeing. This holistic programme combines both one to one appointments and weekly group sessions for children aged 4 to 12 years, and their families.

Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know from experience that things change throughout the lifetime of a role and it gives our people the chance to play to their strengths.

A typical day as a Healthy Lifestyle Engagement Officer might include:

  • Helping us maintain the ethos of Thrive Tribe by driving our organisational culture forward across our services and using every opportunity to embed our values!
  • Communicate effectively with primary school staff, via phone calls, emails and meetings, to discuss and arrange the delivery of the gloji Energy programme, concentrating on schools in areas of deprivation.
  • Visit schools to deliver engaging activities, such as assemblies and workshops, that promote gloji Energy to children and their families, with the aim of generating sign ups to the programme.
  • Motivate, inspire and support children and parents/carers to adopt a healthier lifestyle, through a professional, knowledgeable and empathetic approach.
  • Complete Extended Brief Intervention phone calls with the parents of eligible children to get them signed up. Sensitively assess family’s needs, goals and motivation to change.
  • Accurately record and monitor group programme data in a timely manner using basic IT skills.
  • Attend outreach events to promote the gloji Energy programme, whilst building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the gloji Energy team, by participating in team meetings and informal catch ups regarding programme progress.
  • Support Thrive Tribe and service colleagues to implement local health campaigns or programmes as required.
  • Ensure due consideration is given to Information Governance and Clinical Governance legislation, requirements, and guidance.
